about DISTANCE
There is a change in myself I came to realize recently – the change in my sense of “distance.”
The sense of distance with people, distance with things we touch, and distance with scenery – they are all forced. Every distance is not near. While my sense is not completely used to the distorted distances, I engraved how to access the other side of the acrylic board as partition, intimate distance achieved by myself functioning as a partition, or the unreachable other side beyond the thinness on colorless acrylic sheets.
DISTANCE / ディスタンスについて
少し前から自分自身変わってしまったと思うことは「距離」の感覚だ。人との距離感、手で触れるものへの距離感、さらに風景との距離感。強制された距離。どんな距離も近くない。狂ってしまった距離感に未だ慣れないうちに、アクリルパーテイション越しに眺める向こう側へのアクセス方法とか、自らが仕切りとなっての密接距離とか、辿りつけない薄さの向こう側みたいなものをアクリル板に彫刻した。
